استقبل الفريق أسامة ربيع رئيس هيئة قناة السويس، اليوم الأربعاء، السفيرة هيرو مصطفى جارج سفيرة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، يرافقها وفدا رفيع المستوى، لبحث سبل التعاون المشترك، وذلك بمبنى الإرشاد بمحافظة الإسماعيلية.

تعد الزيارة هي الزيارة الرسمية الأولى لقناة السويس منذ تسلم السفيرة مهام منصبها في شهر نوفمبر من العام الماضي، وتهدف إلى التعرف عن قرب على قناة السويس و مستجدات مشروعاتها التنموية.

ضم الوفد السيد كريس ريكر مستشار شئون الزراعة، والسيد برايان نافزيجر مستشار الشئون الاقتصادية، وممثلي القسم الاقتصادي بالسفارة الأمريكية.

في بداية اللقاء، أكد الفريق ربيع أن التحديات الراهنة في منطقة البحر الأحمر وباب المندب كشفت بما لايدع مجالا للشك الأهمية الاستراتيجية التي تتمتع بها قناة السويس في المجتمع الملاحي وما تمثله من ركن رئيسي لاستقرار واستدامة سلاسل الإمداد العالمية التي تشهد اضطرابات واضحة منذ اندلاع الأزمة.

وأوضح رئيس الهيئة أن حركة الملاحة بالقناة تعد جزءا لا يتجزأ من حركة التجارة العالمية وانعكاسا مباشرا لما تشهده من نمو أو ما تواجهه من تحديات، مؤكدا أن قناة السويس مستمرة في تقديم خدماتها الملاحية والبحرية بصورة طبيعية رغم التحديات الراهنة.

وشدد الفريق ربيع علي استمرار جهود قناة السويس الداعمة لعملائها في أوقات الأزمات عبر اتخاذ عدة آليات من شأنها تقليل تأثيرات الأوضاع الراهنة في البحر الأحمر من خلال تقديم حزمة من الخدمات الملاحية والبحرية التي تلائم احتياجات السفن العابرة في الظروف الاعتيادية والظروف الطارئة والتي تمتد لتشمل خدمات التزود بالوقود وخدمة الإسعاف البحري فضلا عن خدمات الإنقاذ البحري ومكافحة التلوث وخدمات الإصلاح وصيانة السفن بترسانات الهيئة وغيرها.

وعلى صعيد استراتيجية تطوير الهيئة، أوضح الفريق ربيع أن الدولة المصرية نجحت خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية في تحقيق طفرة تنموية غير مسبوقة على صعيد مشروعات البنية التحتية المرتبطة بتطوير المجرى الملاحي لقناة السويس و بالمنطقة اللوجيستية والصناعية المحيطة بالقناة لتقديم نموذج واعد للخدمات الملاحية والبحرية المتكاملة.

واستعرض رئيس الهيئة مستجدات مشروع تطوير القطاع الجنوبي للقناة أحدث مشروعات التطوير بالمجرى الملاحي والذي سيساهم في زيادة عامل الأمان الملاحي بنسبة ٢٨٪، مشيرا في هذا الصدد إلى انتهاء أعمال تنفيذ الجزء الأول من المشروع بتوسعة القناة ٤٠ مترا جهة الشرق في نطاق المشروع من الكم ١٣٢ ترقيم القناة إلى الكم ١٦٢ ترقيم القناة، واستمرار العمل في الجزء الثاني من مشروع التطوير بتنفيذ أعمال إزدواج القناة من الكم ١٢٢ ترقيم القناة إلى الكم ١٣٢ ترقيم القناة بنسبة إنجاز بلغت 72.5 ٪.

وتطرق الفريق ربيع إلى استراتيجية الهيئة للإعلان عن قناة السويس”القناة الخضراء” بحلول عام 2030 من خلال تبني سياسات ومشروعات صديقة للبيئة ضمن الجهود المصرية للتحول الأخضر، وتمهيدا للإعلان عن مصر كمنصة للهيدروجين الأخضر في المنطقة.

من جانبها، أشادت السفيرة هيرو مصطفى جارج بجهود هيئة قناة السويس في دعم عملائها وحرصها على تحقيق التواصل الفعال معهم لتلبية متطلباتهم في تلك الفترة الصعبة، معربة عن أملها في انتهاء الأوضاع الراهنة في منطقة البحر الأحمر وباب المندب في أقرب وقت في ضوء حرص الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية على عودة حرية الملاحة مرة أخرى في تلك المنطقة لما تمثله من أهمية خاصة لضمان استدامة سلاسل الإمداد العالمية.

وأشارت سفيرة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إلى اهتمامها بالعمل على توطيد العلاقات الإنسانية وتعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين على مختلف الأصعدة خلال الفترة المقبلة.

في ختام الزيارة، قدم الفريق أسامة ربيع رئيس الهيئة درع قناة السويس الجديدة إلى السفيرة هيرو مصطفى جارج سفيرة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، ثم دعاها للقيام بجولة بحرية في قناة السويس الجديدة.

Adm. Ossama Rabiee, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, has received today Ambassador Herro Mustafa Garg, US Ambassador to Cairo, accompanied by a high-profile delegation to discuss ways of joint cooperation at the SCA’s headquarters, Al-Irshad Building, at the city of Ismailia.

This is the first official visit to the Suez Canal since Ambassador Mustafa Garg took office last November, and it aims to get more acquainted with the Suez Canal and the developments in its developmental projects.

The delegation included Mr. Chris Riker, Minister Counselor for Agricultural affairs, Mr. Brian Nafziger, Deputy Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs, and representatives of the US embassy’s Economic Section.

At the outset of the meeting, Adm. Rabiee asserted that the current challenges in the Red Sea and Bab El-Mandeb region have proven beyond any doubt the strategic importance of the Suez Canal in the navigation community and what it represents as a pillar of stability and sustainability in global supply chains that are witnessing obvious disturbances since the outbreak of the crisis.

H.E. clarified that traffic through the Canal is an integral part of global trade and a direct reflection of the growth it witnesses or the challenges it is faced with, stressing that the Suez Canal is continuing to provide its navigational and maritime services as per normal despite the current challenges.

Adm. Rabiee also emphasized the continuity of the SCA’s efforts to support its clients in times of crisis through implementing several mechanisms aimed at minimizing the impact of the current situation in the Red Sea, and providing a bundle of navigational and maritime services that fit the needs of transiting vessels under normal and urgent conditions. These services include bunkering, maritime ambulance services, as well as maritime salvage, pollution fighting as well as ship repair and maintenance services in the SCA’s shipyards, among other services.

As for the SCA’s development strategy, H.E. explained that the Egyptian state has managed, in the past few years, to achieve an unprecedented developmental leap in infrastructure projects to develop the Suez Canal’s navigational channel, as well as the logistical and industrial zone surrounding the Canal to present a promising model of integrated maritime and shipping services.

The Chairman gave an overview of the updates of the Canal’s southern sector development project, the waterway’s latest development project, which shall contribute to increasing the margin of navigational safety by 28%, pointing out the completion of execution works on the project’s first phase; i.e. widening the Canal by 40 m. eastward from Km 132 to km 162 (Canal marking), and the continuance of work on the development project’s second phase which entails doubling the waterway from km 122 to km 132 (Canal marking) at an execution percentage of 72.5%.

H.E. touched upon the SCA’s strategy to announce the Suez Canal “The Green Canal” by 2030 through adopting environment-friendly policies and projects amid the Egypt’s efforts in green transitioning with a view to announce Egypt as the green hydrogen platform in the region.

On her part, Ambassador Mustafa Garg lauded the SCA’s efforts to support its clients and its keenness on achieving active communication with them to meet their needs amid this difficult period, expressing her hopes that the current situation in the Red Sea and Bab El-Mandeb region ends as soon as possible especially as the United States of America is keen on the return of freedom of navigation in that region given its importance in particular to maintaining the sustainability of global supply chains.

H.E. expressed her focus on working towards fostering the humanitarian ties, and promoting the bilateral relationships between the two countries on all the different levels in the upcoming period.

At the end of the visit, Adm. Rabiee presented the commemorative shield of the New Suez Canal to Ambassador Mustafa Garg and extended an invitation to Her Excellency to tour the New Suez Canal.

L’Amiral Ossama Rabie, chef de l’Autorité du canal de Suez, a reçu aujourd’hui mercredi dans le bâtiment Al- Erchad à Ismaïlia, S.E. l’ambassadrice Herro Mustafa Garg, ambassadrice des États-Unis d’Amérique au Caire, accompagnée d’une délégation de haut niveau, pour discuter les moyens de coopération conjointe.

Cette visite est la première visite officielle au canal de Suez depuis que l’ambassadrice a pris ses fonctions en novembre de l’année dernière, et vise à connaître de près le canal de Suez et les dernières nouveautés de ses projets de développement.

La délégation comprenait M. Chris Riker, conseiller aux affaires agricoles, M. Brian Nafziger, conseiller aux affaires économiques, et des représentants du service économique de l’ambassade américaine.

Au début de la rencontre, l’Amiral Rabie a confirmé que les défis actuels dans la région de la mer Rouge et de Bab-el-Mandeb ont révélé sans aucun doute l’importance stratégique dont jouit le canal de Suez dans la communauté maritime et ce qu’il représente en tant que pilier principal pour la stabilité et la durabilité des chaînes d’approvisionnement mondiales qui ont connu des perturbations visibles depuis le déclenchement de la crise.

Le chef de l’Autorité a expliqué que le mouvement de la navigation dans le canal fait partie intégrante du trafic du commerce mondial et reflète directement la croissance dont il est témoin ou les défis auxquels il est confronté, soulignant que le canal de Suez continue de présenter normalement ses services navigables et maritimes malgré les défis actuels.

L’Amiral Rabie a souligné la poursuite des efforts du canal de Suez pour soutenir ses clients en temps de crise en adoptant plusieurs mécanismes qui permettraient de réduire les effets des conditions actuelles dans la mer Rouge en offrant un ensemble de services navigables et maritimes adaptés aux besoins des navires transitant dans les circonstances normales et d’urgence qui s’étendent pour inclure le soutage des navires, le service d’ambulance maritime ainsi qu’aux services de sauvetage maritime, le service de lutter contre la pollution, et les services de réparation et d’entretien les navires aux chantiers navals de l’autorité et d’autres services.

Au niveau de la stratégie de développement de l’autorité, l’Amiral Rabie a expliqué que l’État égyptien a réussi au cours des dernières années à réaliser un essor de développement sans précédent en termes de projets d’infrastructures liés au développement de la voie navigable du canal de Suez, ainsi que dans la zone logistique et industrielle entourant le canal pour fournir un modèle prometteur de services navigables et maritimes intégrés.

Le chef de l’Autorité a passé en revue les dernières nouveautés du projet de développement du secteur Sud du canal, considéré comme le plus récent projet de développement de la voie de navigation, qui contribuera à augmenter le facteur de sécurité de la navigation de 28%, en soulignant l’achèvement des travaux de mise en œuvre de la première partie du projet en élargissant le canal de 40 mètres vers l’est, dans le cadre du projet à partir du kilomètre 132 jusqu’au kilomètre 162 (marque du canal), et la poursuite du travail sur la deuxième partie du projet de développement en mettant en œuvre les travaux de duplication du canal du kilomètre 122, jusqu’au kilomètre 132, (marque du canal), avec un taux de réalisation de 72,5%.

L’Amiral Rabie a évoqué la stratégie de l’autorité visant à déclarer le canal de Suez « le canal vert » d’ici 2030 en adoptant des politiques et des projets respectueux de l’environnement dans le cadre des efforts égyptiens de transformation verte et en déclarant l’Égypte comme une plate-forme pour l’hydrogène vert dans la région.

Pour sa part, S.E. l’ambassadrice Herro Mustafa Garg a salué les efforts de l’autorité du canal de Suez pour soutenir ses clients et son souci d’établir une communication efficace avec eux pour répondre à leurs exigences dans cette période difficile, exprimant son espoir que la situation actuelle dans la région de la mer Rouge et de Bab-el-Mandab cessera le plus tôt possible compte tenu de la volonté des États-Unis d’Amérique, qui appellent au retour de la liberté de navigation dans cette région, car le mouvement commercial dans cette région revêt une importance particulière pour assurer le durabilité des chaînes d’approvisionnement mondiales.

S.E. l’ambassadrice des États-Unis d’Amérique a exprimé son intérêt à travailler à la consolidation des relations humaines et au renforcement des relations bilatérales entre les deux pays à différents niveaux au cours de la période à venir.

À la fin de la visite, l’Amiral Ossama Rabie, chef de l’Autorité, a présenté le bouclier du nouveau canal de Suez à S.E. Mme. Herro Mustafa Garg, l’ambassadrice des États-Unis d’Amérique au Caire, puis il l’a invitée à faire une tournée maritime dans le nouveau canal de Suez.
