Loads of tourists visit Georgia to get together  know the country, with its beautiful nature, ancient history, culture, and traditions. The unique geographical location, the crossroad of Europe and Asia, being a part of the Silk Road, presents Georgia well in the world. Despite these facts, it remains a peripheral country of Europe for many.
Let’s see Georgia from a different angle….
The flag of the country has five crosses, which conventionally represent Christ and four evangelists, and is recognized as the most beautiful flag in the world. There are more than 7000 languages and 14 scripts in the world, and Georgian is one of them. The Georgian language is referred to as the language of the Gods.
Georgia is the oldest European country, and is the homeland of Zezva and Mzia, the first European hominids. Skeleton fragments of Zezva and Mzia were found in Dmanisi. Their age is 1.8 million years.
Georgia is one of the oldest countries of metallurgy. The oldest prehistoric gold mine has been discovered here, which is 1000 years older than the Egyptian gold mine. Georgia is connected with the myth of Apollonius of Rhodes about the “Argonauts”, where the true history of gold mining and processing is depicted, which can be proven by archaeological facts.
Georgia is the homeland of wine. 600 varieties of grapes thrive in our country. The oldest clay jugs, found in Georgia are 8000 years old. Evidence of this is provided by the fragments of pottery vessels, found by archaeologists near Tbilisi. The components of wine are preserved in the form of sediment on the discovered clay jars, which date back to 5500 years, and were also found in Georgia.
Georgia is the homeland of wheat, there are 27 types of wheat in the world, of which 14 are endemic. There are more than 1000 mineral waters in Georgia. The most popular among them is “Borjomi”, which ranks second among the world’s best mineral waters. Georgia has been in close contact with the Roman and Byzantine empires since ancient times. Georgia is the oldest European country.
