The President said that Ishaq Dar gave various suggestions regarding import in today’s meeting while I gave suggestions to the Finance Minister regarding energy saving measures.
He said that the new military leadership is serious about staying away from politics. Now all the responsibility falls on politicians, politicians should be serious together to work, problems can be solved by talking to each other.

Arif Alvi said that the appointment of the Army Chief has been done in a good manner, when there was a consultation in the UK on the appointment of the Army Chief, there was no harm in taking advice from the people here. Imran Khan was informed about the consultation two or three days ago and nothing else was discussed about the appointment in the meeting.

He said that I am convinced that early elections can be a better solution to the country’s problems. People should have confidence that the government belongs to their mandate. Whoever wins the elections should have a public mandate.
